Choosing the Right Dentist in Westchase

Westchase area residents are careful when selecting the right health professionals to care for their families. Choosing the right dentist to take care of your family’s teeth is no small feat. There are several factors to consider when shopping around for a dentist. We have put together some helpful tips to help ease the process. Even if you choose to use another dental office for your family’s dental care, Westchase Premier Dental wants to help. We love keeping our community readers informed and sharing helpful information about all aspects of dental healthcare.

What’s Important to You?

Everyone is different about specific criteria when considering a dentist. For some, proximity is a very big factor and the search can be narrowed down by location. Our office is conveniently located at 12229 W Linebaugh Ave by McDonald’s and The Publix Supermarket at Westchase. View Map.

Office hours is another deciding factor that can be very important to many people. Finding a dentist that has appointment times before and after work hours can make all the difference for busy work schedules. Westchase Premier Dental gladly accommodates our patients with difficulties taking time off of work. We have appointment times available at 7 am and open until 7 pm Monday through Friday.

There are times when the fees have a huge weight on the decision making process. Dental insurance can be an issue as well. You may need to check your provider’s network to see which dentists are in your provider’s network. Most dental offices are happy to help you in determining your coverage and what fees you will be responsible for out-of-pocket.

Then, there are some that are simply looking for the highest level of comfort and care possible. Reading patient reviews online is a great tool to learn about a particular dental practice. Also, asking around locally is another way to get some insight.

We hope these tips help the decision making process during the journey of finding the right dentist for you and your family. Once you have a good idea of what you are looking for in a dentist, the process of narrowing it down becomes much easier. Once you find the right dentist for you, you will know it!

Choosing Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are today’s most sought after cosmetic dental treatment next to whitening. Misaligned teeth, stains and cracks take away from your smile and can leave you feeling uncomfortable in social situations. Veneers correct these issues and can change just about every aspect of your smile. Veneers can also be applied with minimal changes to the structure of your teeth. The benefits are as impressive as the smile it brings to our patients after having their veneers placed.

Benefits when choosing dental veneers as your treatment include:
    • Durable & Long Lasting
    • Stain Resistant
    • Customized Fit
    • Natural Appearance
    • White & Bright Smile
    • Self Confidence

The Process

With today’s technological advances, the entire veneer placement process can be completed in as little as two visits. The first step is to visit your dentist and find out if veneers are right for you.

Some patients may need veneers only in a single area, while others may need to get a full row of veneers to achieve the smile they really want. Once there is the determination to have veneers placed, the next step is to have an impression of your teeth. The impression is used to create your custom fit veneers.

You will then have the veneers bonded to your teeth. In order for them to completely bond to your teeth, a very tiny amount of enamel will be need to be removed. A curing light is then used with a bonding resin to secure the veneers to your teeth. Once the veneers are in place, they’ll be polished and shaped for the finishing touch, leaving you with a new smile you’ll be proud to show to everyone!

Westchase Premier Dental can get you started if you have been considering choosing dental veneers and need to have an evaluation. If you’d like to learn more about veneers and other cosmetic treatments, give us a call at (813) 475 – 4528.

August is National Peach Month

There are countless ways to honor juicy peaches during the month of August: Learn some new recipes that include peaches, enjoy a bowl of peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream, or simply eat a peach straight from the tree in its whole state. 50 Juicy Peach Recipes for (an Endless) Summer has so many recipes using the peach as the star of the show. You are sure to find something you can’t wait to sink your teeth into.

It’s always pleasant to hear that something that tastes so good is actually good for you. Peaches are an excellent source of vitamins A & C, fiber, potassium and other healthy nutrients. They are also very low in calories (about 60 for one medium peach).

Complete Nutritional Data

Peaches & Oral Health

Peaches contain antioxidants that help fight free radicals and protect the body against infection and harmful diseases. Peaches contain phosphorous and calcium, which help strengthen bones & teeth and repair of bodily tissues. Foods that are rich in phosphorus aid in preventing bone diseases that cause bone loss, such as osteoporosis. It helps with re-mineralization of bones so they maintain their rigidity. Along with calcium, the vitamin C content in peaches also plays an important role in the strengthening of jaw bones and gums, which helps in keeping the teeth intact.

Be sure to keep up with your daily dental routine and as always, try to brush and floss as quickly as you can after having sugary foods. The acid in these sweet foods can break down the enamel of your teeth, which is not very “peachy”.

Happy National Peach Month from Westchase Premier Dental! If you need to make an appointment, give us a call at (813) 475 – 4528.

Fun Facts: The peach is a member of the rose family and is a close relative of almonds. It originates from China and is a symbol of good luck, protection and longevity.
